Brands Insurance was started in 1968 by Al Brands in Cincinnati, OH. Originally working out of his house, he started offering homeowners, auto, aviation and small business coverage.
In the 1970's , Al started offering commercial policies to owner operators, and eventually small fleets. By the end of the decade, Brands Insurance was licensed to sell insurance in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, and was operating out of a small office in Sharonville, Ohio.
In 1979 , Al bought a small piece of land on the side of I-75, north of Cincinnati, and built an A-Frame office building where Brands Insurance was based until 2001. During that time, Brands Insurance began to specialize in trucking coverage exclusively.
In 2001 , Brands Insurance moved into their new facility, located on the same property, and now employs around 40 people serving 40 states.
The mission has remained the same through 2008 – exceptional customer service leads to happy customers, which leads to growth of the company.
